My harddrive has developed a buzz, it's not overly loud and it's not constant either. It comes and goes and has a high pitched screeching noise. The harddrive is a 500GB Seagate Barracuda bought from OcUK in December. Is it on its way out? Can I get a replacement drive if it is? Thanks

The buzzing could just be vibrations, if you press the drive (just put your finger on it) then does the buzzing go away?
How often does the screeching happen? Some of my older drives do that occasionally, but its just the heads resetting or something along those lines.

You may find the below link useful in helping to diagnose the fault. Either way, make sure you have a good back-up of any important data on that drive.
