what case / cooling have you got. If its packed in tight with little ventillation any thing is going to get hot! All my hard disks have fans blowing over them so they are barely warm to touch!
36 & 32 degrees c in my HTPC, 2500KS and 3200KS in a Silverstone TJ-08, one HD on case floor, other on bottom of HD cage) 15 degrees c ambiant. Not to sure of the two 3200KS's in my stacker, think around 28-31.
This has cropped up a few times: WD 2500KS drives appear to run quite hot. Mine are in two 5" drive bays with no cooling and they get warm enough to make the front panel of my case warm to the touch.
Some people claim it's a faulty sensor, but most people say they're just hot running drives. When I had a 7v 120mm fan on them they were cold to the touch.
