I was just plays BFBC2 when an error message popped up saying the harddrive is about to fail just wondering how serious i should take this message and does anyone know any good easy to use software i could get to test it?

The best thing would be to firstly backup/copy anything important off the drive and onto something else (CD/DVD/Flash drive etc... Documents etc, anything you can't afford to lose. Once that is safe, you should probably get another drive anyway to replace it.
Search for any software that shows SMART status, that should give you the health of the drive and let you know if it needs replacing. Speedfan works well for this, as it links you to a site that analyses the health details (as they aren't friendly to read).
I have just downlaod a bit of software called HD tune, and it says the health of the drive is ok, but i might run the error scan on it and see what it says.
