Did that on Monday in glorious weather in a crappy 1.4 Diesel Yaris, one or two bends were a bit hairy but nothing really to get scared about. I was hoping for a bit more danger but nothing more than avoiding the sheepies ambling along the road.

View from the top of the pass was breathtaking.

Is there a steeper pass in Britain, probably plenty abroad I suspect but in this country?

I cant believe I just wasted 5 minutes of my life watching somebody drive down a country road on a motorbike.

Bit more danger?

Try cliff diving combined with cow tipping.

My google skills tell me you have driven the steepest road in Britain.

The Queen will be in touch.

The only issue is the worry about cars coming the other way too fast around one of the many blind bends.

Drove it a few times, my girlfriend found it terrifying for some reason even though i was taking it easy.

Meridian, I was staring at your signature because it was triggering something in the back of my mind and I've finally realised the game it's from :D

We drove along it a few years back. Travelling behind an ancient motorhome that somehow was managing to leak fuel onto the road.
Never been so pleased to finish a journey. I'm told the views are great.

Did it last December with 2ft of snow in a Landy - that was, erm, interesting!

Doing it at night in the Westfield is also a laugh.

Try Honister pass ometime - I think it's better (and quieter).

Newlands Pass has an awesome sheer drop if anyone wants to scare thier other half http://www.visitcumbria.com/simon/newlands-8616a.jpg

I was unaware of this road and I take a trip to the lakes every year. I have done 'the struggle' the road leading from ableside to Kirkstone foot that's quite steep and twisty in places.

Long time since I've been there but IIRC Wrynose was a bit hairier. Only time we've had trouble was in an old 1.6L Montego Estate, it had been driven hard all day and finally overheated on one of the passes and couldn't make it til we let it cool down.

I did the Honister pass the same day coming from Barrowdale up to the mine at the top and then down to Buttermere, the weather being glorious made the views especially magnificent.

All through the day there were from what I could tell World War II planes flying through the valleys, maybe Spitfires and Lancaster bombers, not sure exactly what they were or what the occasion was anyone enlighten me?

Haha, done this when I went to a camp-site in Boot. Drove through in an automatic Mondeo. It is some good fun though I have to say.
