I did the Honister pass the same day coming from Barrowdale up to the mine at the top and then down to Buttermere, the weather being glorious made the views especially magnificent.

All through the day there were from what I could tell World War II planes flying through the valleys, maybe Spitfires and Lancaster bombers, not sure exactly what they were or what the occasion was anyone enlighten me?

Where were you heading to? Mine was taken on the way to the Old Man of Coniston. It's quite a nice route going up there.
