Hardocp 6 screen eyefinity vid (5870 2gb)

...hehheehhehe..if only there were only no bezels now :p

I suppose people just don't want to see crysis any more but..wouldve been nice to see it in it's glory on such a high resolution display....and the resulting slideshow as the 5870 breaks 'neath it's mighty high resolution bugs..:D

50% more pixels than a 30", so its not tha tmuch more than what the last gen could drive.

monitors in portrait mode? youd still end up with your crosshair having a bexel in the middle of it, but i get what you mean, if i could "see" it, i might agree with you.

Yeah, that was always going to suck with FPSs. Why not show it with HAWX or DiRT 2 or something that would actually benefit from the extra screen space without the central bezel being too distracting?

5x would clearly be better, in that respect.

the minute you put a bezel in the middle of the image = fail. i still think a bigger monitor in the middle in landscape and smaller monitors on the side in portrait is the way forward.

my maths is fail btw. its 3x a 30" in pixels :)

5x1 is a well good idea, I would like to be able to get some 21's or somethign to put in portrait at the sides of my 30" though, so i dont have a high spec monitor with nothing to do with.

Having now watched it though, It would suck to actually play on it, to get playable FPS turn all the eye candy off, sitting that close = fail, and not my opinion of "impressive that a card can drive that res"

50% more?

2560x1600 is 4.1 million pixels.

5760x2160 monitors is 12.4 million pixels, that's more than 3x.

5760x2400 would be 13.8 million pixels

Add bezel correction which for my monitors (dell 2408s) is about 120 pixels per monitor.

Bezel correction adds 1920x120x6 and 1200x120x8 or 1080x120x8.

So with bezel correction, 6 1920x1080 screens is an additional 1.38 million pixels for the horizontal bezels and 1.24 million pixels for 1200 or 1.03 for 1080.

TL;DR

2560x1600 is 4.1 million pixels.

5760x2160 monitors is 12.4 million pixels, 14.81 million with bezel correction on

5760x2400 would be 13.8 million pixels, 16.42 million with bezel correction on

the only amounts of screens with bezzels that works for fps games are 1,3,9,15
personally im gonna go for 3 rows of 5 screens on top of eachother :D let me see now, 15 x ~£450 = :o
ok so 1 screen for me it is :/

lol.

We were talking about 5 in portrait mode, which would work. Technically, 3x2 can work, you just have to remove your bezels :)

For extra horse power, XFX has a limited edition 5970 version with 4gb framebuffer. Apparently, it's gonna cost £1000 like the ARES but I'm not sure. We got that exclusive shot last weekend.
