hardrive heat problem .

ive just made a system a barebones system . everything works great. appart from my hardrive over heating to to the point were touching the side of my case is like putting your hand in boiling water causeing the system to just freeze. its a old wester digital 80 gig. before i buy a hardrive . could this be caused by anything else other than just a old broken hard drive . thanks a lot . craig.

its getting hot to the point were windows just freezes . surely this can not just be caused by ventillation?

Its the AOpen XC Cube AV EA65-II . i know its cheep but i was just putting my old systems parts into it. maybe the result of installing windows doing formats etc. mite have got it hot. once im home ill give it a try again and get some temps recorded.
