Upgrading the Motherboard CPU and RAM in my rig soon and was after a bit of advice. I have a number of SSD and HDD connected to the existing rig and my windows installation is on a 480GB SSD. I've read that you can connect up new hardware and Win 10 will chug along on the 1st reboot sorting out drivers etc..

My question is do I do this or:-

1. wipe the 480gb ssd and 1 of the 128gb ssd and do a fresh install of win 10 on the smaller ssd leaving the larger for games etc.

2. Use the Win 10 Reset function to drop it back to factory settings then install to the new hardware and let window fix drivers.

or are there any other options ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Fresh install if you can, saying that I had to move from my HTPC from an C2D to an i3 and it worked no problem without changing a thing, well apart from having to contact MS to reactivate. :p
