Hardware compatability

Can someone tell me if the following hardware is compatible please.

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.20GHz (Socket AM3)

MSI 870A-G54 AMD 870 (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard

Corsair Vengeance 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel

Yup they will run together. Just be careful bout the RAM and your choice of CPU cooler. The high heat sinks of the vengeance could get in the way.

save a few quid and buy this ram insted i have 8gb of the stuff in my rig works great have them at 1900mhz no probs

Any reason for using AMD?

You can get a Intel i3-2120, MSI H67MA-E35 motherboard and 4GB Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey for a couple pound cheaper.

For gaming the i3-2120 wins over the 955 in most scenarios.

Yes if you have a higher budget go with the i3. it beats 955.
