Hardware Failure - Possibly Overheating?

Its still an nvidia card, they produce the reference design, then companys such as asus, bfg, evga and xfx etc place their name on them.

I had a suspicion it may be that as it uses nividia drivers! Either way its slightly buggered :D Took it out the pc tonight gave it a final clean with the rocketblower but didn't make a blind bit of difference. Booted up and within seconds it screwed up. Its now out of the pc and in its box again. see what happens tomorrow when i phone OCuk.

yea call them and let us know how you get on :)

Well I got through to a nice chap at OCuk and explained the situation, gave my reference number so he could call up the information. He explained that the card has a 3 year warranty (1 and a half still to run on it) but for orders over a year old i should contact the manufacturer, but in the case of ASUS this didn't apply so I'm to send it into OCuk for testing and if they find it the same as I've shown in the screenshots here then they will send it back for repair / replace. If the card cant be replaced then i will get a credit notice or a different card of similar standing (pricewise) from the time i bought the card (around 87quid).

So I'll pop that in the post tomorrow and play the waiting game now :( Silly laptop cant do anything compared to my pc :D

Hi, exactly the same happened to me with an 8800GToc from OCUK, but it was a BFG one with a 10 yr warranty. The symptoms look pretty much the same also, card took around 2 weeks to arrive :)
Good luck.

Quick update. Sent it away yesterday and already got an email from ocuk telling me it's to be sent back to manufacturer for repair or replacement! Quick service, well done ocuk :)
