I have a pretty simple question. Routers that come with a built in firewall: Do you have to tinker with any settings in the router software for these to provide adequate security? Or are the settings that they ship with decent enough? Sorry if that's a bit of a silly or noobish question, but I just wanted to know :) Cheers.

It depends what sort of security you're looking for.
NAT will protect you against incoming traffic on ports you haven't forwarded but you'll have to configure the firewall for outgoing security and all bets are off for forwarded ports or if you use DMZ.

Ah right, Well I'm after something that will adequately provide protection while browsing. I do use Windows firewall but so far I haven't altered any settings of the hardware firewall.

:) Cheers, I'm using AVG free edition and I'm not the type to just randomly click and allow every single security certificate from every website I encounter :)
