Hi guys, I am not sure if i can find any help here. I have an i7 870 with an msi gtx 460 running through an H55M-Le (ASRock) MOBO -all was fine i had a few games like Crysis 2, BF3 maxed out no probs, kept an eye on temps etc all was good.

Suddenly this morning, i powered it back on and there is no graphics output, tested hdmi tv with another work laptop and its fine - took everything out of machine and put it back it, one beep after about 5-10 seconds, a post beep which seems to indicate everything is fine, fans all spinning but ... NO OUTPUT to monitor, no bios screen nothing, no signal. Tried using on board and i think the mobo requires a GPU to be installed.

What is wrong with it do you think? Im at a loss and would really appreciate any input from anyone. :(

Thanks

(sorry if this is in the wrong thread)

Does your motherboard have an onboard GPU? As a processes of elimination you could try that just to see if its a problem with your card, your cable or if neither something else.

I'm not sure, the mobo does have dvi/vga outputs built in to it but i don't think it has any built in gpu, or my chip doesnt - i did try vga output from onboard - i do get 2 short beeps and 8 long though without the GTX460 installed, i had a spare gpu which i put in and there is no error code there, could be the card i suppose, im just lost as the onboard doesnt work either!?

pull out the GPU and the bios battery give it 5 mins or so to discharge and lose your config then put the battery back in and run up on the on board graphics.

If it runs up then try adding your GPU if not then it may be time for a new mobo.

Nice one - ill try removing the battery and gpu - good shout. The mobo is new and has been working up until this morning only had it for 3 weeks, i get the post beep so all seems well the gpu is older though. I'll do as you say and check back in 5.

I have a problem with my nvidia 9500gt on my motherboard (Yes I know i'm due for an upgrade!). it has an onboard vga connector I believe or I have inputs on my graphics card.
I dual screen to a 32" hdtv and a monitor aswell and when I turn it on I have no input whatsoever on either screen. What I have to do is unplug my hdtv's hdmi cable and then it works when when I try to boot up again.

Morale of the story, try different slots and stick to one display device xD
