Hardware Problem!

Hey guys, the bits for my new pc arrived on saturday but I'm having a problem with my setup hopefully someone can help clarify what the problem is, spec is as follows:

Antec P180
E6600 (stock cooler)
Gigabyte DS4
2x1GB G.Skill DDR2 HZ
Radeon x1900xt
Western Digital Caviar SE16 320GB

Anyway I beilieve either I have a duff mem stick or the board doesn't really like my memory.

The problem is when I place both sticks of ram in it will either make it to windows then reset itself or it will power up, the fans will spin but it will never make it to the bios screen, then the fans will stop and it will try again or just turn itself off.

Now when I try the machine with 1 stick it seems to run fine I was playing F.E.A.R and Tomb Raider today while also just randomly doing stuff and had no problems, I replaced the stick I had used today with the other one just before and while it seemed to go ok F.E.A.R seemed a little choppier than before and it took a few goes for the pc to get to the bios and startup (fans stopping & starting as before after about 3 tries it started).

So thats about everything - I also tried running MemTest on both stick but my pc doesn't seem to like that and hangs after around 10mins - no errors being reported up to that point.

I seem to have wrote rather a lot, nothing is overclocked btw :)
Anyone any ideas? Thanks.

did you place the RAM a space apart form each other, ie, a slot between them?

I didn't have them a slot apart no - doh! However I just tried that and first time I made it about half way through writing a reply here before my pc froze, restarted and tried again but same result.

Try setting the memory to ddr333 and report back

I'm not sure how to set it to ddr333 in the bios but I'll have another look :)

Btw back to using 1 stick again.
