Surprised they don't make a bigger deal of it having USB4 on the rear I/O. THG did an article on boards with USB4 a short time ago and they didn't even seem to realise this board existed.B650e Taichi, is a good price on OCUK at the moment, getting a nice reduction.

The Taichi Lite also has a USB 4.0 port, but the price is not much lower than what OCUK are charging for the Taichi.Surprised they don't make a bigger deal of it having USB4 on the rear I/O. I don’t think the £500 before discount is realistic though, the price it’s at now is around the price it should be while the Lite version should be around £230.B650e Taichi, is a good price on OCUK at the moment, getting a nice reduction.

Asus can go and jumpThe strix B650E-F for under £190 currently looks the best deal over in the uk
I have the Taichi Lite. Cracking board. Had no issues with it.I am jumping ship and moving over to AMD, i have gone for the Asrock B650E Tachi paired with a 7800X3D from overclockers.
At least i will have some upgradeability on AM5 platform.
Great to hear i did look at that one also but the non lite version was on offer at OCUK for £293, looking forward to getting it up and running soon.I have the Taichi Lite. Cracking board. Had no issues with it.
And no worries about CPU instability.I am jumping ship and moving over to AMD, i have gone for the Asrock B650E Tachi paired with a 7800X3D from overclockers.

Taichi has a (rear I/O) USB4 port and the Strix doesn't, if that is a factor for you.Disregarding Asus issue for the moment, which of these 2 would you choose to pair with the upcoming 9900 series CPU?
I’m not adverse to that if the new chipsets offer nothing interesting extra, I do think though with the timing of their release rumoured to coincide with the X3D that they’ll have a big headline exclusive feature that’s not yet been announced since the main addition of USB4 doesn’t seem like reason enough to release new chipsets especially as that feature was already available on some 600 series boards. No harm in getting a good B650E mobo at a discounted price, I did for my current build.
For my use case, the upcoming features aren’t going to be missed.
Trying to decide between that and the Asrock B650M PRO RS WIFI which adds wifi and an extra M2 for 35 quid.On the lower end of the spectrum the B650M-HDV/M.2 looks decent for the price. I just ordered one the other day for £100. Should be good for updating my htpc from AM4 to AM5
