Harry Maguire - Banged up Abroad

his lawyer, sorry more likely Man Utd's lawyers (plural), will presumably argue risk of covid and find a way for him to do at worst a glorified house arrest in some luxury greek villa getting waited on and no doubt serviced by some very attractive maids. This will be despite recent videos like this showing him hanging out in crowded bars, shaking hands with people and immediately wiping his hands all over his face, which makes a mockery of the covid risk stuff - although when it was taken is unclear to be fair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9Jjm8zYdIc

What an absolute clown. Why cant they just have a quiet holiday in their own villa or something.

He should just plead self-defence, it worked for Steven Gerrard.

Self defence against a copper? Good luck.

The aggrevated assult part is getting me. Im no law buff (Well football laws im a professional ref) but it doesnt read well. I thought he'd get off but :

"Aggravated assault is an attempt to cause serious bodily harm to an individual with disregard for human life. Factors that raise an assault to the aggravated level typically include the use of a weapon, the status of the victim, the intent of the perpetrator, and the degree of injury caused"

That's jail time isn't it...

Harry Maguire and two others have had a Greek police case file opened against them in relation to 'offenses of violence against officials - court officials, disobedience, bodily harm, insult and attempted bribery of an employee,'

Crikey

Didn't Gerrard also run over a little boy?

Yes mate. I heard that he mounted the pavement on purpose.

The kid ran in front of his car LOL.

Patrolling police officers in the area of Mykonos intervened and normalised a dispute between citizens, however, three foreigners involved in the incident turned against them, insulting and hitting a police officer with fists.

"The three foreigners were taken to the Mykonos Police Station, where upon their arrival they strongly resisted, pushing and beating three police officers.

"One of the detainees then tried to offer money so that the trial against them would not be completed. The arrested (men) were taken to the Syros Prosecutors Office."

In Maguires defence he had no choice in getting away because he can't run.

yeah it could be being exaggerated by a copper who was happy for a backhander but his boss walked in and now they want to save face etc. I wonder if either side has CCTV or phone footage. If they have that and it shows him taking a swing, well...

also never underestimate the effects of alcohol and adrenaline especially if they'd already been in a rut with another group just before.

You cant exagerate trying to bribe someone though.

Given where it was im sure there will be CCTV footage.

Allegedly his sister was injected with a substance that caused her to faint, and instead of hospital she was taken to a police department?

it’s all a bit mishmash God knows what happened but hopefully he’s home soon

He's already home. He came home straight away. The sister that was apparently injected didn't however and carried on her holiday. Surely she eventually went to hospital? It could have been anything...there would be bruises where it was administered aswell.

Lucky that he has got in trouble in a country that doesn't seem to follow any semblance of a fair justice system.

As the truth slowly comes out in this case we might get to the bottom of this.

I mean if he doesnt assault a police officer or offer a bribe this doesnt happen. I've seen a lot of the "Greek police are corrupt" posts everywhere which considering they didn't accept a bribe nor did they give him a jail sentence im not sure how Seems to me like Maguires defence was full of holes. First his sister fainted, thenher eyes rolled ot the back of her head.
