Athlon 2600 - if memory serves correct -died .
RMA to local shop who sent it back to AMD/ supplier who tested and confirmed it was dead!
Took about 2/3 weeks as I remember to die - started by not booting correctly first time and gradually got worse until finally it just did not function.
Thought to start with memory, then motherboard more or less last suspect was cpu.
Shop did say they had not had another 'total' fail (which apparantly this was) ever; either Intel or Amd.
Not overclocked at all.
Fortunately no problems since
