As mentioned above not undercover if someone is observing for ages, more a stakeout/intelligence... My mum used to sell illicit plant based substances from her council flat in the 80s/early 90s, and eventually police installed a couple of guys in a flat opposite to observe comings and goings. This was eventually enough to cause them to try and "raid" her, but the door battering gadget didn't work. Nice solid door! She tutted and told them they should've knocked (they still barged in with guns IIRC). My mum had a customer who was a copper but I'm fairly confident he wasn't undercover, he'd hang around for a smoke in uniform!I knew a guy who was selling coke to an undercover for nearly a year until they threw him in jail. The cop was good, I didn't clock at all.
