Has my CPU had it.

What it is, when I switched on I was getting a solid amber light, my system revs up for a second then power's off, then it repeats its self. so I removed all my card and memory to see if there were broke. I have noticed that when I remove the power cable for my CPU, then the system fans will work, but, if I reconnect the power cable, then they wont work, and the system power's on and off every second or two.

Take out the CMOS battery.

Leave for a minute or two then replace.

Try booting up.

Leave it out for longer perhaps, the point of his post was to reset the BIOS settings to default( 1-2 mins should do it, but i've had it take half an hour on an OEM pc), as bad settings will cause the fans to cycle exactly like you describe. Overclockers see it when they set too agressive memory timings and for various other reasons, but standard pc's see it too, BIOS settings corruption. If it was bought here with OCUK, give em a call, you may need more dedicated advice.

Well you need to troubleshoot from basics if you want your PC to live again, i'd google a comprehensive guide and ask questions here f you run into issues...

Did use the CPU and memory on another motherboard, and had the same thing.

More likely to be the memory than the cpu, try switching that around and booting with one stick at a time

Hi, Could be the psu which make have you got, try shorting the light green out with any black and see what works ( only 1 green in a 24 pin plug) if it all works could be the psu is not receiving a feed back from the board of psu gone bad of a board fault

Remove the kettle lead
Press the power button (Will remove all power from the system)
Remove CMOS battery
Replace battery
Plug in kettle lead
Power on

This - except hold the power button down until it attempts to start this will remove any juice in the system.

Tried that, and it still wont turn on. What happens, when I press the power button, the PSU and the back fan on the case attempt to run. The CPU fan will a slight attempt , but all will stop, and it then start all over again.

Rather than testing the memory AND cpu on the other motherboard just try one or the other... that way you can rule out whichever one doesn't give the fault...

and test the ram one stick at a time not all together

Tried that, but still no luck. But I do hear a Click noise before it start over again, and I was wondering if it could be the PSU.

Another test I did was to remove all my memory from the board, and switched on, and the same thing happened again.
