Has my tyre finally gone?

You really need to ask this? That tire will be a death trap riding on cords, even in the dry, the wet will be nigh on impossible

Got another 1000 miles on that no problem

I recommend you do some reading up on basic maintenance at least, if your tire is in that state I dread to think what the rest of the bike is like.

These aren't like cars, if something lets go it's going to sting rather than just leave you stranded and needing a new pair of undies.

Yep its toast,if a copper spots it you could get 3 points and be made to push it home, you can see the carcass showing through it

Look on eBay for a part worn one with plenty mm tread left,a new one won't be that expensive, looks small size

The rest of my bike is self maintained and just fine, I'm well aware the tire is on it's way out, I just didn't know how far I could push it before I had to spend some cash on it :P

What bike is it?

Looks like a smaller bike so shouldn't cost you the earth even for decent rubber, either way get it done quickly that tire on the sort of greasy crap you get this time of year when it rains will not be fun.

I just can't believe you had to ask. Jesus.

Well done on putting 13k miles on it though. I'm only up to 2k on my Sinnis Apache 125. Nothing major has gone wrong on mine either after a year. Only loose exhaust heat shield bolts.

on its way out
it was on its way out a good few 1000 mines ago
hate to think what the rest of the bikes like if you think that's only just on it way out

Haha, as I said the rest is fine - I do bits of maintenance myself, oil, chain etc - had it serviced a month ago for valve clearance's, not 100% confident at that bit yet.

Just so people know I took your advice, my bike is now at the local garage, should have a new tire on first thing tomorrow. Ride safe all! :)
