Has the swear filter been removed?

I posted a tirade containing a swear word, thinking that the word would be automatically starred out. It wasn’t. :eek: Thankfully I spotted this before an overzealous mod swung the banhammer.

Is this a bug or a feature?
 
I've occasionally used FCD to point out words that are censored and shouldn't be or should be but aren't censored. The system is not flawless, but it's pretty good.
 
It doesn't work for every word banned on the site, which gets extra complicated as different mods considered different words to be/be not swearing so there's quite a few inconsistencies.

I.E I once saw somebody given a holiday for using a word that's generally considered not swearing (to the point where we tell children to use it instead of swearing), then the next week I RTM'd somebody for using it and was told by that mod I was being silly and his dad says it all the time, lol.

Sometimes the quirks make sense, sometimes not. It’s very much a moving target.

Anyway. We’ll likely all get banned for swearing in here...
