Haswell highest oc into windows

Yeah, I heard handbrake can do that. I will be testing that soon also. If it passes handbreak and plays games fine, then I will be happy.

I mean running occt, ibt, prime is a bit pointless without deliding in my opinion. Just stick to real world apps, and if you never crash, then what is the problem? :)

By the way I am now 30 mins in running AIDA 64 stability test. No throttling and max temp is still 95c. That said looking at current values, they are like average 60-80c. Hardly ever do I see above 82c.

I think I will stop it now and move on to handbrake :)

Oh and btw my monitor turned off at 30mins, I thought it had crashed, but it had just gone to sleep. Lol. I was like noooo.... Lol

Yeah I've had the screen going black a few times as well, it's creepy :p

I agree that running artificial tests is somewhat pointless in itself, but they're of use to establish your "max" temperatures you should ever get to experience under an unusual system load, and the stability under that load. Under day to day use you should find much more comfortable temperatures, and hopefully less instability. :p

My 4770K manages a 4.6GHz on just over 1.3V btw. I have managed to bring it to 4.7 as well, but quickly crashed on AIDA64 and I didn't want to push my voltage up any higher ... but 4.6 appears stable for me so far. Air cooled btw, Noctua NH-D14 .. with stress testing temps around the high 80's.

Yep. Hand brake did it. Bsd after a few mins with max temps in the mid 70's.

After spending some time on this chip I my conclusion is it can easily do 4.8GHz with some tweaking. But I really want to move on to playing some games now.

I will probably enjoy it on 4.6GHz for a while and then come back to it. I think with delid this chip has the potential of doing more than 4.8Ghz. Right now temps and lack of voltage I am willing to supply to it is holding it back.

By the way, what do you guys have your CPU cache voltage set at? And what is the max you would go?

What sort of tweaking would you suggest?. It seems with mine i can do longer stress on OCCT without crashing with volts like 1.285-1.305, but if i try upping to approx 1.35 then it crashes within a minute?, i would have thought as ive upped the voltages the stress test in OCCT should last longer??

No, i have tried lower the clock rate from 1600 to 1333. My current timings are manual set and are 8,8,8,24
