Hey peeps,
I got my 4770k last weekend and got Grid 2 free. I have my crossfire 7970 setup still and all is nice and smooth but in Grid 2 theres some nice smoke options that only run on IGPU. Can I have crossfire enabled but also take advantage of the IGPU features if IGPU is left switched on? Just wondering if anyone has tried this and if so,whats it like? The fact the intergrated reckons it can run those effects at 10% of the power needed by a discrete card is interesting. I am away from my PC at the mo or I would just switch it on btw:)

I'm pretty sure you can't do that :) It would have to render that smoke to a buffer that's then overlayed and displayed by the discrete GPU's ... it would be very difficult to achieve if it was even possible, and not worth the hassle.

Will do. Although it says it can easily render the smoke at next to nothing gpu power its still gotta render the rest of the game at an acceptable fps @1400p for me so I call fail already :D

To clarify: yes, for OP's purposes. :) Obviously solutions like LucidLogix Vertu change the landscape a bit as far as simultaneous GPUs.

I have both IGPU and my discrete GPU working at the same time, but being different technologies you can't use CF or SLI between them.
