Haswell Overclock Thread

Same for your CPU at 4.6. You won't see any difference to 4.4.

Probably not, but i know at 4.6ghz, graphics card bottleneck cpu. Planning to play Final fantasy ARR online and using the bencmark 4.8ghz, 4.6ghz, 1600mhz, 2133mhz, give me a score of 8500 and with 4.4ghz 7800.

The board is putting the voltage to 1.280v on auto just to get the standard turbo 3.9GHz, and it's failing Prime95. I think I'm going to return this CPU.

That cant be right. did you load "optimise default" and try and use aida64 or OCCT with avx? cpu-z 1.65?

I set the board back to defaults, with auto everything. At idle it's showing 800MHz / 0.736v - but when I load prime95, it goes to 3.9GHz and 1.280v, and prime95 fails in a few seconds.

I dont use prime95, was mention that they dont have new instruction in haswell and can damage the cpu. I could be wrong but thats what I read/saw.

I reset to defaults again, this time it's not failing Prime95 but the voltage is still high. Oddly the temps are ok...

its strange, its a very different layout to that app on my pc.

but thats a lot of volts for stock.. a lot.

last request. a screenie of the digi+ power control panel

It's a new version of AI Suite (3). Yeah, I'm not very happy that it wants to go to 1.280v just to get the cores on stock turbo clock.

hm. not even with any load line calibration.

if you click on 4 way optimisation, do you have the 4400 4600 etc profiles or does it show tpu tuning?

There's an option in the UEFI options (CPU Level Up or something) - I tried one of those and it crashed on boot up.

I'll try the 4400 preset here and post back in a min.

Right, it's come back at 4400MHz. At full load it's now going to 1.360-1.376v (and temps are 80C at the moment).
