hate itunes with a passion.

I've pretty much switched to Spotify now. iTunes isn't a bad piece of software but it is bloated and poorly written (on the Windows side at least).

it is horrible. im runnng it off my old pc (part o the problem admittedly) but is soooo slow. i slows the whole computer down. all the things in the backgrond and that stupid updater. NO. I DON WANT SAFARI! AND I DON EVEN KNO WHAT BOJOUR IS!! rant over.

iTunes (and QuickTime and Safari) on the PC always seems poor compared to the Mac version, at least to me. Don't know if it is Windows or poor programming.

Different kettle of fish on the Mac.

However, despite the relative poor performance I still use iTunes on my PC and like it.

Bonjour is Apple's Zero Config Network Discovery Protocol by the way.

Latest iTunes for Windows work A LOT better then before, Safari is split off from the normal updates by the way now ;)

Itunes on 64bit has a massive memory leak i love it on OSX but on Vista it started using 5.8GB of ram to play a few hundred Appleloss files

You must have seriously messed something up within iTunes to not be able to hold a few thousand, I have used mine with 5,000+ tracks for years with no issues.

It's not the fact that it doesn't work, it's the fact I cant find anything.

I like the way that winamp has separate parts in the library for Artist, Album and Title, and you can narrow down by any of them, the search is blistering, and it always has a now playing list on the right which is easy to use.

I.e looks like this:

You can do all those things in Itunes...

How you couldn't find what you wanted to listen to is honestly beyond me, all of those features have been there since I used iTunes on a G3 iMac at College, on OS9.

The search is as fast as I can type, which is fast, you always have the sort options if you desperately need your entire library organised by song title. There's no no playing list but you have you forwards and backwards controls up top, and as soon as you press one it jumps you to what's playing anyway.

i actually like it better on windows than on my bros macbook where it seems to be slower :/ .

i even trust it to organise all my music.

only think i dont like is its way of album art though. spend ages giving everything the right art only to find it doesnt show in other software

well it probably my rubish pc. ive seen it breifly on a mac and all hte pobles whernt noticalbe. hopefully my new pc will handle it

How do I get that view?

OK another question.

iTunes has fractured some of my compilation albums in to different albums, how do I get iTunes to sort it into one album?
