Yeah as said already, have a play with some of the launchers. If you've played around with shell replacements for Windows Explorer (e.g. Litestep, Darkstep, Talisman), then you're essentially doing the same except it's on Android OS!
The ones I played with were Go Launcher, Nova and Apex. Apex was the one I settled down with in the end, although Nova was a close 2nd.
