Hi,

I have a weird problem where sometimes if I turn on my computer, it does not go into post.

The power comes on and the lights on the case come on indicating something is turning on but the motherboard doesn't react.

I would do a combination of pulling the cable out or switching the power switch to off then waiting 10-60 seconds ... a few times at least before I switch it on, the computer does it beep and it starts post.

I am leaning towards motherboard but it could be the PSU acting up and not supplying enough voltage.

Thoughts guys?

Thanks.

My crystal ball has also same problem, so what parts you have in PC?
Would fit quite well to capacitors going bad, usually in PSU.
And who knows if empty "BIOS"/RTC battery (CR2032) could also cause this.

Also did you do anything out of normal before problem appeared?
Like moving PC, which might have caused some connector to loosen little.

Well it turned out to be the motherboard, it kinda died so it wouldn't go into post ... power would go to everything (drives, motherboard lights, etc). It looks like the BIOS got corrupted and screwed it. It did have a dual BIOS but I had to put it into single BIOS mode a few years ago as it was boot cycling.

So replaced it with a LGA1151 setup now.
