Have any of you swaped from WASD?

same although I could move my whole keyboard to the right side to use the WASD but meh.

arrows
numpad0 = crouch
right shift = sprint
ctrl = steady aim
 
WASD, I had no idea anybody used the arrows or anything else. Been using WASD since CS 1.6, it's almost impossible for me to use anything else now.
 
Only ever used WASD.

However going to try and train myself to use ESDF as I've started to PvP more in WoW
 
Since Doom was released it's been WASD for me, since I got a new Ducky Shine III I've changed the keycaps for red ones on WASD and even my 3 year old is playing Minecraft using them now :)

Granted all she does is walk into walls but it's a start..
 
A friend of mine uses the arrow keys but it's an absolute nightmare paying with him. Every single game he rebinds every thing then can't remember any of the keys.

I've tended to favour ESDF for many years, due to liking having the "nipple" on the F key for orientation. It's disadvantage is that it's a bit less easy using your little finger on the A and | keys for functions that it is using Shift & Ctrl. And you always have to reprogram from the default keys.
 
I've been using WASD since unreal tournament, it has never occurred to me to use anything else, not a big MMORPG player so perhaps don't need as many bindings as others.

same here. Tried with WASD but i'm programmed in permanently.

Deep Space had them fixed until i found a registry editor to change the default to arrows.

Some of my other binding I've use for years:

Delete = Jump
Page down = Crouch
End = Prone
insert = peak left
page up = peak right
etc
 
I only use WASD.

I never touch keyboard mappings as it's a pain when you use another machine which doesn't have the same things set.
 
Arrows due to being a leftie (gaming only) use right hand for browsing internet etc.

just used to it.

Insert to Pagedown for certain keys, (0) Ins Jump, (1) End Crouch, keypad 4 and 7 for prone etc. Grenade is side mouse button if used. Then got Ctrl, Return, backspace for more keys.

Hate WASD to be honest.
 
I used to use the arrow keys, but I got fed up with having to rebind the keys in every game, so it's wsad every time now.

This. Can't get used to WASD, the only time I used them was playing Freelancer.

Only amateurs need key binds.... ;)
 
wow so many replies, threads going great! very interesting to see how many different combo's there are. I have thought about getting a game pad and doing away with the keyboard for gaming but remembering the amount of custom macro's I had for WoW puts me right off it.

RDFG seems really interesting given the F has the nipple , going to give it a try today and report back :)

I'm a leftie too and I do this. It can get a bit annoying when I have to swap between typing in Chat and WASDering, but I think it's less annoying than having to rebind every game to something other than WASD. :)
The only thing I normally have to rebind is Crouch (from C to Ctrl).
 
This is mine, a lot fo the guys i game with find it strange i used the v and c key like i do. I find it allows me to rock my thumb for smoother actions and double press'. I generally put melee on my mouse buttons and 1.2 the time i put prone on a thumb button too

Its strange as I've always used WSAD, but might be forced to change ...... new keyboard could well mean a long left shift key ...... and I use the slash key as my 'touch for voice' button.


hybridx- my control setup in pretty similar.... however I don't use the lean option, so
Q is normally Tactical Grenade,
E is Melee,
R is Nightvision (cod4)
F, use or interact
X Prone
C Crouch
/ Voice Comms
Fwd / Back (mouse) - Run / Reload
MMB - Frag.

Right handed, but arrow keys with my left hand for me - always have, always will, with ctrl shift space etc for various bindings.
