Have Graphics card mounting fittings changed or are they all the same pattern?

if you’ve seen my other thread, I need to wc a GPU but it needs to be low profile and most blocks won’t quite fit in my case, I’ve found a raijintek universal vga block on OCUK, now, it’s an old block, states compatibility of the Nvidia 6xx/7xx cards, so old stuff.

But the block should be okay for cooling the gpu itself, but I don’t know if this would fit a more modern gpu? Obviously compatibility lists are out of date so just want to know if the mounting distance differs much between cards now?

This is the block https://www.overclockers.co.uk/raijintek-gwb-c1-vga-water-block-universal-wc-008-rt.html

Thanks in advance :)

Oh hell no! If you are going to buy a universal block then at least buy a decent one such as XSPC's Raystorm VGA, EK's VGA Supremacy or even better EK's Thermosphere. I know you are limited with clearance but that Raijintek block is of a design going back to the begining of water cooling where the water just goes in one side and out the other, no jetplate or anything like that and the finish is just terrible. I still have a Aquaextreme MP-1 from 2004 that will probably outperform this thing. One other option would be Alphacool's NexXxos GPX range of core only blocks that are fitted to a whopping great heatsink that then cools the whole card. You can get the GPX M06 for the GTX 1060 for as little as £31 if you shop around.

Amazing thank you, that gpx m06 might just fit the bill and is dirt cheap! Is the pcb the same for all models do you know?

The pricing of that one only lists gainward/Palit cards but can’t imagine Many custom pcbs for the low end card of the range.

At only £6.58 it's cheaper than on here for those of us who don't get free shipping for heavier items. That will probably only fit a card with a reference design pcb so check on somewhere like Techpowerup.

What gpu do you want to cool?

I recently bought a Zotac 1080 mini thst needed a waterblock so I just bought a cheap gpu block (around £11 shipped) and some memory sinks.

The card never goes above 35'C at full load, so don't go spending a fortune where you dont have to..

I haven't even bought the gpu yet, so any really.. Do you have a link to the block by any chance? Think I may have found it but want to check, can trust me a link if needed please.

You left it as trust feedback :p but got it, thank you.

I assume the included fittings were ok and you didn’t need to source your own?

Haha, sorry about that. I guess if it worked it worked, right?

In regards to the block, I just used the fitting screws and nuts that was supplied in the box. It comes with everything you need to cool the core apart from thermal paste.
