Thats the better card. It also offers exceptional performance for the money.

was looking at the Connect3D ATI Radeon X1950 XT-X SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR4 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-050-CO)

it says though Crossfire compatible - Master Edition ATI/HIS X1950 card required!!

whats that???

on your monitor due to its maximum resolution, that would be a complete waste of a card. stick with X1900XT of lower unless you plan to get a bigger screen in the near future.

Don't forget you need a decent PSU to power high end cards (plenty of power on +12v rail).

Crossfire is the ATI version of SLI, if you wanna use it then you need a Crossfire motherboard (has two X16 PCI-Express slots, though they may not actually both run at X16 in Crossfire mode) and a Master card (paired with a normal "slave" card). There are also some cards that don't require a master card (mostly lower end stuff) but you still would need a Crossfire compatible mobo.
