First off i cant work out how you guys show your basket so heres the link.. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/checkout/cart

second, i'm new to building and hoping someone can check over my basket to make sure all the components will work together etc for racing simulation gaming. ill be adding a monitor(suggestions welcome)/keyboard/mouse onto that too.
so have i got literally everything i'm going to need to build and start gaming? all cables, screws/nuts/bolts etc?
maybe you could suggest your own basket of parts? all i really don't want to change is the graphics card...as i've read its the best 1070 you can get, only 7fps behind a 1080.

thanks so much for your help!!

thanks to 'southernorth' heres the basket:

Thanks for the advice, i had no idea i would need an extra panel to run VR! I am intending to go VR in the future so thats a big help! One thing i forgot is an OS, can i download windows or will i need to fork out the £100.00?

I notice on your list orbitalwalsh, there is no no back up hard drive is this on purpose or not?

ok great thanks for clearing that up. I don't mind spending an extra few £££s to get the cables to the front, i can see that being a bug bear so ill opt for the extra panel. What about if I'm plugging a wheel and pedal set in? Do they do front panels for those? Ill do another basket tonight and post up on here for you to double check it before i place the order if you don't mind. Cheers

ok, heres where Im at...read on another post it was a good idea to add a couple of extra fans so i did, i like the orange be quiet case so hey presto! got myself some orange fans haha. Give it a skim over if you wouldn't mind and let me know if ill need anything else, E.G cables or extra screws/bolts anything miscellaneous that I've missed really. Gone with your recommendation on vast majority, like the graphics card and bigger SSD but maybe if needed in the future i can pick up aa 2TB HDD if needed. Guess ill need to decide wether to get it all on monthly or pay up front hmmm...
Thank you for your time pal!

Case has 2x usb 3.0 ports by power button so guessing those could be used and well as the two ports that come with the VR panel. Just have to check how many internal USB connectors there are on the board

*****
Board has two internal USB ports so can hook up vr panel and case usb at the front to the board, that's 4x usb 3.0 ports you can use

Go for it, get a list up :)

Brilliant that mate, great advice, ill be sure to take it on board!

Heres a question for ya...what actually happens when you first start up and self built? Only ever had pre built that work straight out the box....

Cheers

(currently googling that 1080 card) :D

Looks good mate ! Mobo normally has two days cables in but just plain standard ones .
Yeah, wise to 2x 140mm in the front. Plug them into the Mobo and not the case fan controller for fine tuning. Move the case 140mm to the rear top is you want, keep that hooked up the case fan controller and run how you like. Should be running slightly more possitive pressure which is good :)
Think with that ram too, should be able to set XMP and change from 3200hz to 3333hz and same timings :)
You'll be loving it :) just make sure you manage to get a good small hdmi cable to hook up the vr panel to the card :)
Have a Google on that aorus card though, should get the 1080 version under £500 and 11gbps under £550.£70-30 saved right there :D
Might even be enough to swap to i7 8700k ;).....
Ocuk sell the rest of the kit above cheaper and Def worth sticking to for the main bulk buy

Read above first, forgot to quote again but another question. Can you explain the bit where you about the card and 11gps under £550.00. Not sure what the 11gps means. Don't forget I'm a newbie haha

Cheers!

ok, the case situation i actually agree on, looks better in black and i can RGb to whatever i like.
The board says it needs 500W of power and will use around 180W, so ill take you advice and drop down to the 550W PSU.
Definitely upgrading the motherboard, thanks for that tip. It has some very good reviews too.
The CPU cooler from your basket and my basket are the same aren't they? Only difference i think i can see is the price and mines already cheaper, am i missing something?
Thanks

ahhh yes i can se now.
Could you recommend a couple of fans to go with the motherboard? Just thinking seen as I'm going back to a black case, had my eye on a couple of 140mm RGB BitFenix but says compatible with ASUS aura sync motherboards, does this matter?

ok, guys, the build I'm near as all set just cant decide on cooling...here re some options. What would you recommend please?

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,139.09 (includes shipping: £15.30)

Case changed, looks ok to me. Comes with 4 preinstalled fans and RGB lighting strip so happy days.

I think I'm all set now to place the order...see anything I've missed? Ill be picking up a 0.3m hdmi cable to go to the VR panel. Can you think of anything else?
Picking up a 144Hz monitor at a later date and i already have a keyboard and mouse.

Thanks again!

@southernorth @orbitalwalsh

Gents, I'm bit confused now, i haven't ordered the Aorus card of yet no, are you saying i should get a better card? I thought that was a great card?? Found it for £494.99.

I would rather have a 'be quiet' case purely for aesthetics, if you STRONGLY disagree speak up, but if not I'm going with the silent base 800.
Cant justify forking out more than around £200.00 for a case either.

New total with Aorus card (have seen the GEFORE GTX 1080 G1 GAMING RGB 8912MB GDDR5X PCI EXPRESS has 9 very good reviews) can knock £100.00 off total for AORUS card

This is getting more expensive by the day!! :D

Can you tell me the difference in the RAM priced above at £209 and the previous RAM i had in my basket at £188 too please. Seen orbital recommend it in a 'healthy budget' build on another thread

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,839.80 (includes shipping: £0.00)

@southernorth @orbitalwalsh @lee32uk

Thanks for the informative input gents. Im thinking to go with the shallower be quiet cooler so it matches the fans and case. Was toying with idea of the bigger 800 base for future modding but i think ill be ok with the 600 for now. Basically gone back to square one! :D
Ill be re reading this thread when it comes to the build with regards to fan positioning etc etc. First build so no doubt ill be doing a lot of googling/youtubing!!

ALSO, i have found the 11gbps Aorus card for £502.00 so looks like ill be getting that!! :D

In your experience is it worth waiting for any upcoming xmas/january sales or not? Just curious...

ok great, thanks very much. :D

So Any ram 44mm and under will fit with the Dark pro or any ram 44mm and under will fit with the Dark rock cooler? The faster RAM appeals to me more if I'm honest, speed is everything right!

Im literally ready to press the order button. :p

Just read the heatsinks can be removed on the Team group Ram anyway...
