Have I just ****** my system up with burn test

Of course, you knew this informations....
but just in case...

The way how to stablise Ram is like this...

1. Find Clock speed what you like at high Voltage

2. Find good Ram timing speed

3. Test your Ram with Ram testing program (E.g Memtest)

and then, overclock your cpu...

Ram gets crashed at high voltage without proper cooling...
Not higher than 2.5V
Lower than 2.3V...

be careful with the voltage on thse 45nm wolfdales there are reports of degradation if too much voltage is used. do a search for more info

I thought you were talking to me

Yeh was well aware of that as you know and volts were on 1.28- 1.29v tried it a notch lower but orthos failed within a hr. But now its back at 3.6, Ive put the volts back to 1.22.

well i guess that line shoudl apply to everyone with a wolfdale cpu. there are real reports not just on these forums but others too about excessive voltage causing degradation on the 45nm cores.

to be honest phil unless you play supreme commander its your 3870 which is going to be holding you back not the cpu in the majority of games out there.

Never changed them fron the stock 1.9v????
You never changed ram Voltage?

I think It's better to try to find best Ram Voltage....
Rather than, just using it...

At the end of the day, I was wrorried I may of caused damage to my hardware, cos Im a wrorry wart as cyber-mav knows, and this system has been the best Ive ever made so far. Yeh I do daft things but hopefully running burntest for a stupid amount of hrs hasnt screwed anything up.

Don't be sad...
Although some error, it was kind of good result...

To be honest, It's not perfect

However it won't cause any data polution...
I don't gurranty but... I hope so...

Well set to auto it sets them at 1.8 but there rated at 1.9 so I changed it manually to 1.9 and all timings as auto.. I thought I was going to have trouble when I installed another 4gb, but no probs at all. so no real reason to change anything.

Auto is not kind of good setting...

I am not sure...
Auto setting can be changed when situation chages...
For example, temperture or other reasons

So stability test result can be changed...

That's what I think

if intel burntest screwed up your hardware then your hardware was probably nackered to begin with in all honesty. and to be truthful in this if you believe your hardware is going to nacker out running software like this then you seriously should not be overclocking anything without an adults supervision.
