Have I signed up for a credit card?? MBNA

In halfords it was. I'm so annoyed with myself as I usually just say NO. I was looking at the interior cleaning products she just stood their on about how it would make her day if I helped her.

She didn't seem the most confident person so I thought I would give her a break. I said "I don't want a credit card" and she replied ohh blah blah it's just a questionaire. So thought ok then.

I'm really raged about this lol.

I was in halfords the other week looking at car stuff and got bugged 3 times by those peoples!

Made me buy less as I was trying to avoid them neither of them spoke very good English ..the woman was fit though :D

I HATE being accosted in the street for any reason (no matter how fit the woman is), it happens so much around where I work it drives me mad. First I say "no thanks", then if they persist they get a very blunt "go away" then if after that they STILL have a go I end up getting a bit rude and they stalk off. Human spam.

Does anyone else feel like it's always you that gets picked out when they see people walking up the street. Everytime they start towards me

"no thanks were in a rush"

"BUT WERE FRIENDS OF THE EARTH"

When I'm out with my mate in Manchester, we just put our hands in our pockets, heads down and walk on by if we spot anyone trying to ask us something or hand out leaflets.

Bah! The charity peeps in Leighton Buzzard are really annoying. They are obviously sent in on the train (LB is about 40 mins from London) and they line up down the High Street. I'll normally avoid the first one, he's busy. But the 2nd or 3rd ones will always get me. Having to shake my head 5 times in 2 minutes is slightly unnerving.

Yet it is a credit card!?

That is low and a misold product, is it halfords that operate this credit card/survey?

Either way complain to them as you no doubt will and get this cancelled asap.

I used to work for Sainsbury's Bank, 95% of my job involved trying to sell customers savings accounts, pet insurance, and credit cards.

I had a target to meet, but I was never EVER unfriendly with people, I felt uncomfortable cold-approaching them, but sometimes I'd really help someone out like once;

A lady was paying 27% (YES! I know!) APR on here Barclaycard, her husband was ill and not working, and she was struggling to pay the card off, making a payment but the APR basically meant it hardly ever went down, I switched her to the Sainsbury's Bank card and it was 5.9% for the life of balance transfers! So I was saving her a lot, and it was a great deal of job satisfaction to be honest.

Also with saving, I was helping people save money, and even sceptical people, I watched them week in week out come and actually start to save money here and there, that again was great satisfaction.

However, I too, do not like being approached, especially as OP states, he was MIS-SOLD the product, these products are regulated, and mis-selling can have serious repercussions such as unlimited fines, or even possible closure for the company in question.

Unfortunately, it's just a money grabbing world we now live in, companies always trying to expand profits and targets for more fat cat bosses and shareholders.
It's ok her trying to be charming and 'down to earth' by saying you'd be helping her, but you did not want a credit card!
