This just started happening when I installed windows 7.

Basically, every time I boot into windows, it won't connect to the internet unless I unplug then plug the cable back in.

MB - Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3LR

Anyone know what could be the problem? I didn't have this problem when I was using vista. It only started happening when I upgraded to windows 7.

I had this problem with an upgrade to Vista. I concluded it was a driver issue.

I found out that disabling the network adaptor and renabling would kick it in to life so experimented with writing a script to do that on each boot.

In the end I splashed out a tenner for a PCI card.

+1 for drivers, compare MS + Gigabyte ones. I had issues with my wireless card on my m1330 with win7 (worked just dropped every now and again). switched to intel drivers and its been solid since

I had this when I moved my laptop from Vista to Windows 7. I updated the driver and all has been fine since.

I have a similar board (EP45-DS3) which is basically the same but with Crossfire and I found this would sometimes occur if Green LAN was enabled in the BIOS as that checks to see if cables are connected and they were not then it would disable the LAN adapter. Also the latest drivers are here if you want to give that a try.

Disable Bonjour in services on start up:

The display name is something like "##Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762##"

Cured my problem :)
