Have U been On JMA??

Looks like the challenge is in the name. MA an abbreviation of Challenge?
Only proven thing to help you back to work is you.

lol. I'd rather be on the dole than a toilet cleaner, road sweeper or dust man.

Although you'd be surprised that the money is supposed to be quite good for the later two.

Money is money, if you need to survive then any job that pays is is surely worth doing? (Obviously within reason here)

And be totally miserable every day in the job. No thanks. Perhaps if my name was Forrest Gump then I would know that is all I could ever achieve.

And look what happened to forest.

"He who's stupid wins" ;)

If that's what it takes to get back on your feet then yes. You do whatever you need to to keep the money coming in whilst looking for something better.

Picky ******* like you are symbolic of everything that's wrong with this country.

Is it really though? It's one of those things that have struck me as a bit of a myth. Considering the average wage in the UK is £23k, "quite good" pay would have to be more than that, really. Or is it only 'quite good' because you'd expect it to be less - so it seems good in comparison to what you'd expect..?

So what is your job exactly? I'd take a wager certainly not a janitor... yet expect others to take any job. I bet you wouldn't either when it comes to it.

yup... "Freelance PHP Dev"

Tbh it's not his fault. If the allowance wasn't such a comfortable living then people would have to work. If the “free” money’s available why not take it?

It's not until you've done a "better" job that you realise how good the "bad" jobs are.
Well, if I were to lose my job I would have enough money to survive for several months until I found another "good" job. Having spent the amount I have on my education, I think thats fair enough tbh.

I have a decent job now but I've done pretty crap stuff in the past. During my uni days I worked in various factories doing tedious repetitive line work that would have been better suited to a machine.

When I came out of uni I did manual labour in a pet shop (where I was bossed about by my younger brother who dropped out of school at 16) whilst I looked for a job with which I could start a career.

If I was made redundant tomorrow I'd make damn sure I was in some sort of job by the end of the week. I'm not too proud to get my hands dirty to keep the money coming in.
