I tried that but, no offence, it's rubbish because it doesn't have the jump list feature. In the end I installed Classic Shell, now I have the best of all Worlds with the jump list back.

No, because the new start screen is more functional than the old start menu, if MS changed back they would be taking a step backwards in development. I upgraded my dad's laptop to Win8 for him and he thinks its so much easier for him to use, less confusing, he's 70 next year and has only just got into computers in the last 5 years.

no, find the new interface better, and hope they dont add the start menu back in that would be a step backwards.

I totally agree

MS shouldn't add the start menu back just because some people are moaning and are to lazy to lean a new UI, also if this happens then future windows will just look the boaring same....

as I said above if MS add the start menu back I hope it'll be just an option tbh because it'll be very unfair for people who like/love the modern UI if they remove it

NO.

After the additions to the Start menu in Vista and Windows 7, I dread to think what another iteration would have looked like.

So now instead of menu items being nested in a folder structure, they're all shown at once in categories, with scrolling replacing navigating the folders. That's more immediate, I think.

You dont need start menu anymore, start screen is loads better because you can just pin anything you use regularly onto it, everything is available at 1 click of a button instead of navigating through a whole list which now is outdated since windows 8 came out.

The results will be skewed because the people who really detest the new UI won't have upgraded at all.

Nevertheless, as the poll stands at time of post it's a pretty decisive win for the new UI.

But then again you could have had the same 1 button click by just putting shortcuts on the desktop...

yeah, but the people who are moaning and are to lazy to lean a new UI may have spoiled it for other people who like/love the new UI if MS add the start menu back without a option.
