Have you been very lucky over the years?

I've been pretty lucky considering the amount of stuff I've owned over the years.

Worst thing at the time of failing was a Compaq Evo N1020v, poor laptop. :(
Couple of Maxtor drives.
FX5950U fried the memory, but by this time the 6800GS had come out. :)
FX2500M killed itself, this was a terrible day. :(
T2300 had a fault which caused intermittant crashes.
Most optical drives I've owned have failed on the DVD reading side.

Wait... My voodoo 2 failed also.
Couple of USB drives died after years of service.
Ipod Photo lost ability to use wheel.
Creative Muvo became unreliable.
Iphone died after getting a text.

Maybe I'm not so lucky?
MY Hiper Type-R 580w still hasn't blown up though. ;)

One graphics card (R9700 Pro after month) from total of eight cards I've had.
One mouse with button failures after ten years of use.
Bearing failure in fan of one old bundled PSU.
Samsung 959NF CRT going haywire because of failing capacitors after 6½ years of use. (but lot older Nokia CRT still going on)
One Maxtor HDD developed slightly uncertain behaviour during apparent thermal recalibration. (no problems with other ten mostly WD drives)
And one failed floppy drive in first PC I had 17 years ago.

So rather decent record, although avoiding cheap stuff surely has had its effect.

I had a motherboard that bricked hard drives. I never worked out why. My dad had a spare so we swapped that one in asap so we didn't ruin any more. Other than that I've been lucky. My dad has had a lot of problems. After his last build he said he won't bother again.
