Have you gave up WoW?

I'm going to let my sub lapse this month, I've no quests anywhere left to do other than the daily's which are boring, Naxx, OS and VoA are getting tedious now so I'm going to wait until the 3.1 patch lands and see what the new content is like.

Started playing when the second batch of EU servers were released to tie in with more game copies being released (April 05 if i remember correctly), from then played for approximately 2 years, racked up about 150 days /played, was in a high end guild, some of the best gear on the server, and BWL/Naxx raids i'll still never forget when it comes to gaming.

Then they implemented cross server transfers, new talents, and then TBC and the lvl 70 cap finally ruined it toally imo and i gave up.

Still, will never forget raiding 5/6 nights a week with the same 40 players - nothing will beat the teamwork needed in learning those big boss fights. The one thing that stood out most was out firstr Patchwerk kill - we had farmed shedloads of consumables, and when he finally went down...... amazing

I topped DPS as well :D

Hehe, DaWG is a good example of my theory.

And as annoying as it was, you can see why they do it. Keeping the cap at 60 would have meant that those who started first and were in top guilds would always be leagues ahead of new starters, which is demoralizing, and i suppose the majority of subscribers are casual players, so they increase the cap, the high end players get ****** off because all their work is wasted, quit, the next level of players step in, become the high end, then the cap increases again etc......

Better for blizzard to keep 90% of the playerbase happy than just the 'elite' players.

Bring back WSG / AB and 1-shotting people with my fireballs :D

As title says, have you gave up world of warcraft ? did you used to play ?, why did you stop playing ?

just want to know because im bored....

and i want a new character :D, i want a level 80 mage, or some form of dps, i havnt got enough time to level one now before i go away :(, to dear to buy a acount from a site....:D

Yes, and I know some of my friends have too.
Wintergrasp is a complete failure as it just seems to lag everyone (connection lag, though graphics performance isn't great either) and causes a lot of people to just disconnect when in big fights.

Battlegrounds aren't any fun anymore as PvP damage is a complete joke. (AV has also went from the most enjoyable to the most boring too)

They really should have taken a leaf from Warhammer's book and reduced pvp damage/healing so that fights are longer and require more tactics and timing. Especially as wow has far more situational moves but as fights are over in 2-3hits (as a warlock against DK or Rogue for example) there is no
chance to use them.

I know a lot of people will laugh but a couple of us are seriously thinking of giving Age of Conan another go when patch 1.04 (new dungeons mid and high level and directx10) comes out. If not we will when patch 1.05 comes out as its the re-itemisation patch.
Although the game had issues and required some grinding, you could have some thoroughly enjoyable world pvp (attacking anyone anywhere, combined with the ability to hide adds a lot to the game).

It is still a game where someone can one shot you with a combo though, but that may change slightly when the the re-itemisation and balancing is carried out.

Even if we don't stick with conan for long, Aion shouldn't be too far away and after that is Guild Wars 2 which I would be very surprised if it disappoints.

I gave up just after WOTLK aswell.

Vanilla WoW was incredible.
TBC was passable.
WOTLK is purely a cash cow milking excercise...the game just has no soul now.

I've got 6 lvl70's which i think I'll put on the bay soon. No idea if it'll be worth anything.

I quit then tried to start again and again but it had lost its spark - can't bring myself to even try now :o

I gave it a go as my housemates at uni played a lot at the time.

I had a lvl70 hunter and all I did was PVP, I have never been to a raid. I enjoyed the game and played it casually but what got to me is that the game requires NO SKILL AT ALL. Whoever plays it most typically has the best gear.

I've given up WoW and PC gaming. I'm a console person now. :D

I found WoW just took up way too much of my time and I have an addictive personality so I kept getting addicted to it way to easy.

I'm not going to bash WoW because it really is a fantastic game, if you've got nothing better to do it sure is a great way to pass time. :)

Recently sold my account to a good mate for £40, he got a bargain. :)

Played the trial, got a horde mage and priest chars to lvl20 (capped on trial) and got bored. Both with only ~30hours /played.

I quit wow today, this decision i've made a lot of times in the past and i always came back to the game and i hate myself for it.

I've played wow since the first day it came out and i must admit it was the worst thing that happened to my life. I got over 400days played on my account and i did it all, i played in sucky guilds and i played in top 100 guilds and i hated it all but due to my addictive nature and my online friends i never stopped. I was addicted to getting stronger and stronger and the competition and it never stopped, i failed many years of my education because i played it all day and night and could never wake up to go college, Some nights i played all night into the morning till my college started and still didn't bother to get up.
Thing is with that game, in FPS/RTS games you winning or losing depends on your skill as a player. WoW requires no skill just farming, farming farming. Farming instances, farming gold, farming reputation ect.

Theres no point in playing that game, its a total waste of time and it never ends. During my career in wow i even sold my account once and i wanted to go back to it so badly i stole it back... which i'm ashamed of doing.

My advice to anyone who wants to play that game, as someone experienced, please stay away from that game, it'll do nothing but waste your time and your life.. your better off going and reading a book. 4 years after wow came out i hate myself for playing it so hardcore and all i have to show for it is a fat belly and a brain filled with useless wow knowledge.

i quit before wotlk was released because i'd been away in italy for a week and thought it was the best time as i knew i wouldn't be able to stop once i got the add on.

I quit during naxramus, was amazing back on US beta/retail then up to bwl on euro retail then just got too repetitive and mind numbing so I quit. I did a lot of pve and pvp. Then when tbc came out I gave that a go and seemed alright until dinging 70 and same old **** all over again so quit for good. I enjoyed my time playing the game but enjoyed the people I played with more. :)

To be fair it's your addictive nature that led to this, not the game, if you knew this was wrecking your life then there would have been ways to stop playing and not go back.

I've played on and off since launch for no more than 5 hours a week at most and still manage to get through a couple of books a month whilst balancing my work and family.

As with most things if you gorge yourself on WoW it's unhealthy and it'll quickly become tiring, however played reasonably it's still a fantastic original game that offers a vast amount of enjoyable playtime.

Gave up couple years ago.
Loved the game when i was levelling but when i reached 60 it just got boring.
Tried again last year with the battlechest edition.
Played about 3 days and was so bored and that was that.

had a 70 warrior, then realised i was still far from doin raids, and went to uni, so quit. also realised i was playing it because it was with mates, and if your not quite good enough to raid with mates, it looses 90% of its fun.
