Have your stopped talking to people due to political opinions?

I think it depends who they are, and how much their view of life could affect your life (generally nil).
My partner and I were on opposite sides of the Brexit debate, and there's no denying that seriously undermined our relationship. For me, it's all around whether you think their differing views mean you don't share a common world view. Like a lot of you I have a lot of the same friends I have had for years, and we all have different views on religion, politics and all the rest of it, but I honestly believe they are all coming from a place of kindness and hoping for a better world - which is why we are friends.
My inlaws are rabidly pro-tory and even my rather right wing partner has blinked at some of the rubbish they have spouted at him. Same as your point, Luckystrike - there is absolutely no discussion for them. They are right and we are wrong... apparently.
