I did this when younger because I had no opportunity to work overtime in my current job.
The way I see it, does it matter how many hours a week you work so long as you can handle it.
We have blokes working 50 to 60 hours a week at our place so why is that any different to another person working 40 hours in one job then another 10 to 20 hours in a 2nd job?
Anyway, I am not sure I would want a 2nd job working all day Saturday and Sunday though.
When I did it, I got myself a bar job and worked evenings leaving my weekends free except I used to do some IT work for 4 hours on a Saturday morning for £40 (this was 20 years ago so quite a lot of money for 4 hours work)
I used to do two or three nights a week in a local pub. Hours were 7.30 till 11.30pm so boosted my wages by another £40 per week take home. It was about 200 yards from my house so I could walk as well.
I found that it was easy work as it tended not to be too busy with the added bonus if I was working, I wasn't out drinking spending my money
Also meant I could socialise and talk to customers (I was living alone at the time) plus tap the odd nice bird as well
So the extra £80 a week I earnt really totted up as I was only earning £13k per annum gross from my main job but that was 37.5 hours per week.
