Evening guys, this is a bit of an odd request to be honest. Im starting full time work again on Monday following a year in Uni. I was looking for some ideas for what to have for lunches.

Ive thought about stuff such as sandwiches but i was looking for some more interesting ideas. What's your lunchtime favourite?

Sorry for a boring topic!

Rob :)

If I want to annoy the others then a nice German peppered salami sausage sandwich on tiger bread, assures an empty canteen within moments.

Two questions,
What facilities are there, do they have a microwave, cooker, georgeforeman?
Whats your budget?

Well its a work placement which i start on monday so ill find out the facilities then! Its a small place so im guessing not much!

Im going shopping with my old dear tomorrow morning and she pays for food out of the rent im paying her, so will make a shopping list out of the suggestions!

Might pick up a few unbaked small baguettes, and some coronation chicken. Although im guessing that would be cheaper to make, but i wouldnt know where to start!

Cheers for all the ideas guys, im taking notes! :)

For the moment im going to assume theres no facilities so everything has to be pre-prepared. As for budget, aslong as its not stupidly expensive and is reasonably healthy then anything goes i guess!

I CBA to take food, and I refuse to eat the pretentious CRAP at the M&S canteen, which is mostly shop stock on it's last day before it goes out of date. So I eat before and after work. never during.

(Can't buy elsewhere as it's in the middle of nowhere).

Left over pasta/bolognese from the night before
Left over anything from the night before
Salads - add anything you fancy but ensure you have enough greens that it can legally be called a salad
Stuffed pitas
Salmon and cucumber sandwich on wholemeal with mayo

...or take a griddle pan, a gas stove and some rib eye steak :D.

What is the world coming to when people cannot decide what they want to eat for lunch, and must seek guidance.

:D
I suggest cold pasta carbanara or anything pasta because its nice cold. Perhaps buy a pre-made pot from Asda or somewhere or make it youself an take in a plastic container.

Sandwhiches are also good, just take something that will fill you up, nothing worse than being hungry in work.

If they've got a microwave, curry in a can.

:o

You animal.

Good choice. :D

Stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwiches for the absolute winnor. Home made sausage roll is top drawer aswell.

Could try taking in a sandwich toaster for some variation.

Actually, what am I saying?!? Just do whatever. Does it really matter what I think? Why am I even typing this?!

Just slap some buttys together and chuck in a couple of munch bunch for good measure tbh. You don't want to be going all Delia Smith in the kitchen when you should be chilling.

ITSU sushi - have become addicted to the stuff

Do not get sushi!

First you have to explain what it is (no really)
Then explain how it wont kill you or give you food poisoning, defending the fact it tastes nice. (Why does everyone hate fish and shellfish having never once tasted it?)
Followed by the customary new canteen entrant inquiring into the new foodstuff and the now formally educated other party's informing them what it is. Followed by "I dont like fish".
Henceforth been known as the one that eats strange things...
