I have just moved and had VM 4MB cable put in. I want to share it with a flat mate so I bought a Linksys WRT54GS which seems to work fine except plaiying CSS which is the first game I've tried. The server browser is slow and I only get a tiny fraction of the numbers of servers showing up than with just the cable modem. This is my first router so it may be something obvious but googling suggests it may be something to do with port forwarding? Can anyone shed any light?

You don't need to forward ports to play CSS, and AFAIK CSS doesn't do uPnP (not that it would make any odds, see my first point).

It's possible the lobotomised new WRT54GS can't handle the server browser opening dozens of connections at once.
