Having problems setting up DDNS with custom hostname

Hi,

So I was using DynDNS but they have changed it so it's no longer free. So I setup a http://freedns.afraid.org/ account.

I'm getting confused. I used to have it so my router would contact Dyn, give it the new IP and then my old tobes.dyndns.org account then pointed to my own hostname with subdomain say home.tobes.com. So I could access my server from anywhere.

I'm getting lost as freedns seems to offer a lot of different options on creating a free name.

Anyone care to help me out here?

I use freedns. What exactly is it that you need to know?
