Ok so I managed to tip over my Viewsonic VX2260wm 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor and smash the panel; bad day.

I'm now looking to replace it and would like to go bigger; so 24 or 27 inches I guess. Trouble is I'm finding it very hard to choose a good display. I was very happy with the Viewsonic and don't want to be disappointed with its replacement.

Any suggestions - ideally it must have HDMI

ahh ok well your choice, just imo anything bigger than 24" isnt managable whilst sat in front of it, but if youre sitting back watching movies I guess itd be of benefit
I know you said preferably less than £300 but if you can go a little over this is definitely worth it (uses IPS panel which is far superior to TN film for colour depth and generally better pic and viewing angles), if not then look at this which is 120Hz

I was in a similar position and went for the iiayma 27" and never looked back, its an awesome screen for gaming. I almost went for a 24" screen but I'm glad I didn't, coming from a 22" asus screen.

I sit about 2 feet from the screen on a desk, and it's really imersive as it fills your field of vision nicely. It takes a day or two to get accustomed though, as its pretty big!

i,m intrested in the 24 inch HP can you confirm if it is 16:9 sctreen ?

ZR24W as it's the cheapest and uses the same panel as the more expensive Dell and HP monitors.

Plus, you'll most likely get one with the colour cast problem as 90% of panels seem to be affected.

as andi says its 16:10 which is what a lot of games/programs are natively coded for, 16:9 is movie format so movies will have the letterbox effect with a couple of black stripes at top n bottom
Ive got the HP LP2475W and its awesome :D
