Hello everyone, I have been thinking of building a NAS for month's now and finally stepped up last week. I ordered all the part's from various places with the final parts arriving yesterday. I decided to use 3 WD 1 TB green caviar's in raid 5 (will upgrade to 4 later) and have a separate 2.5" drive to hold the operating system (home server). My problem is after building the machine the BIOS can see all the 1 TB drives and reports there capacity as 1 TB but the IDE 2.5 drive is reported as having a capacity of 0. When i try to install Windows Home Server it can't prepare the drive it just sits there waiting for the bar to go up. I then plugged the drive into my PC and it worked fine, Home Server installed correctly no problems... my specs are -

AMD 5050e
J&W MINIX 780G-SP128MB
4GB Kingston 1066
WD1600BEVE - with laptop to IDE converter
3 x WD green caviar 1TB

I think this might be a motherboard problem however the BIOS is the latest revision. Thanks for reading any help would be GREATLY appreciated
