Having some trouble with shared files

Hey all

I've a rather large file on my pc in my room, which i want to burn to CD on this pc downstairs.

I've put the said file in my shared folder, and am trying to copy onto this computer from the shared folder.

It starts to copy, but at 95% it says access denied and the file could be in use?

I've made sure on my pc that nothing is using the file.. but it still wont copy to this one.

Anyone got any ideas?

tried restarting the pc? or closing down all non essentials ?

Yep, tried numerous times now. Someone on msn said i should make sure both computers have file sharing enabled.. So i ran the wizard on both PC's...

Now neither of them can access each others shared folder? :confused:

Yeh, i just turned off nortan briefly on the other pc, and i gained access. Thanks

just for anyone else getting a problem like that. it is also sometimes caused by the file being used by a program. Irritating enough that you cant find the dam program using it!. but try closing some processes down (control+alt+delete) or a reset or close files down

good program called "unlocker" which helps freeing up the file
