I am once again attempting to set up SpeedFan as with all the respect it has garnered I appreciate the problem lies at my end.

I have read this guide that I saw linked by another poster here on OCUK and it appears that even some of the default information that shows up isn't there.

This is what my window looks like:

The reason I believe I am having so much trouble is because it doesn't recognize my chipset I have the Gigabyte Z87-OC the info windows looks like this:

also here is the log of speedfan's initial scan, if it is of any use

Can I get SF to work? if so how?

Yes, I have 4 PWM fans and 1 3 pin

2 of the PWMs are attached to my Antec H20 radiator and connected to the CPU_Fan Header (by way of a splitter)

the other 2 are on the side of the case and connected to my CPU_OPT header (again by way of a splitter but this one has a molex power in)

finally my top 3 pin fan is a 200mm NZXT one and is connected up to SYS_FAN_4 which is a PWM header

I have been able to find my top fan in SpeedFan and rename it etc so I can control it from the main window, is this correct?

I now just need to figure out how to control CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT.

Also noticing my CPU temps are creeping up...something needs to change

Would it be more correct to connect each Antec H20 fan to CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT and then connect the two side fans to their own PWM headers on the main board?

Ok fiddled some more...

I am leaving my CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT headers alone, as I afraid I might be neglecting the power requirements of my CPU cooler. Getting much better core temps now.

currently I have my top fan connected to the same SYS_FAN_4 header

One thing that is baffling me still: Why can I not see any other fans? when I connect the two case fans they start to spin but SpeedFan doesn't report anything...also no idea how to find them either...
