my email to lamptron said:I have two FC5 V2's and I put one of them in my system and I turned it on and smelt burning. I then turned my system off by the plug and after a thorough inspection I saw that it was the fan controller that had burnt around about where the molex power inlet is. The copper wire seems to have been ripped off. I tested the second one and it was perfectly fine. Both these controllers are brand new (less than a week old and this was their first use), I have attached a picture. The red line is where the copper presumably should've been and I have two blue arrows pointing to where the copper seems to have been ripped off.
I initially thought a power surge may have caused this but everything else in my system is fine, including my PSU.
Could you please advise what I should do. Should I RMA to the retailer?
Good enough to get a refund?
