HAX F liquid cooling and build log

my email to lamptron said:
I have two FC5 V2's and I put one of them in my system and I turned it on and smelt burning. I then turned my system off by the plug and after a thorough inspection I saw that it was the fan controller that had burnt around about where the molex power inlet is. The copper wire seems to have been ripped off. I tested the second one and it was perfectly fine. Both these controllers are brand new (less than a week old and this was their first use), I have attached a picture. The red line is where the copper presumably should've been and I have two blue arrows pointing to where the copper seems to have been ripped off.

I initially thought a power surge may have caused this but everything else in my system is fine, including my PSU.

Could you please advise what I should do. Should I RMA to the retailer?

Good enough to get a refund?

Back on topic...

I always hated it when IT teachers called the case the 'cpu'!!

Always felt like ripping it open and pointing to the chip and saying "THERE!! THAT is the ****ing CPU!!"

On the other hand, great looking build so far mate! Can't wait to see the water :)

tell me about it. I once tried to put it on the CPU. detention wasn't too nice :(
worth it though:D
Good old school times :D

Had to stop again today due to illness:(
Not too sure how i'm going to fill the loop though :(

great build - looks very nice, fancy doing a bit of braiding myself!

tell me about it, my friend once told me to use magnets in the school it room to make cool colours on the monitor, ended up with a bill for three new monitors :(

Ouch!
Make sure you get a variety of braid thicknesses and loads of it as i kept fraying the ends and chucking it. I will do some more braidin in my upcoming TJ07 liquid cooling log.
