HAX F liquid cooling and build log

I have two FC5 V2's and I put one of them in my system and I turned it on and smelt burning. I then turned my system off by the plug and after a thorough inspection I saw that it was the fan controller that had burnt around about where the molex power inlet is. The copper wire seems to have been ripped off. I tested the second one and it was perfectly fine. Both these controllers are brand new (less than a week old and this was their first use), I have attached a picture. The red line is where the copper presumably should've been and I have two blue arrows pointing to where the copper seems to have been ripped off.

I initially thought a power surge may have caused this but everything else in my system is fine, including my PSU.

Could you please advise what I should do. Should I RMA to the retailer?

Good enough to get a refund?

Just because if it was the first one you tested it might have been a fault of your own when setting it up, but if you say the second one was faulty after testing the first one which was fine then chances are you got it correctly set up.
But either way sounds good to me.

First I am just connecting everything. Braiding will come later although as you can see from previous pics I have already braided some of them

Well the build bit is done, but I will be doing the liquid cooling bit tomorrow. What are your ideas on how to fill the loop?

Ouch!
Make sure you get a variety of braid thicknesses and loads of it as i kept fraying the ends and chucking it. I will do some more braidin in my upcoming TJ07 liquid cooling log.
