Installed my new cpu and graphics card yesterday. Have been running a few benchmarks and after a while i get a currupt display. Is the card dying ? below is what happens..

Manged over 2 hours of batman no problem, just seems to do it when running benchamrks, The cpu is overclocked to 3.6ghz its an E8400, would not of thought that would cause this but have set it back to standard to see what happens..

Any ideas ?

What benhcmark causes that? Could be overheating the card. Does the fan speed adjust automatically or is it stuck at a slow speed?

Mailnly on Heaven, Never heard the fan spin up. If i set it 100% in the drivers it sounds like a hoover. No overclocking set just running stock.

Try setting it to 100% and running the benchmark. It could be that the fan isn't auto adjusting, causing the card to overheat during intense benchmarks.

There's nothing quite like a benchmark to heat a graphics card to the max.

Oh by the way, you didn't happen to watch the temps when you got the corruption? Any idea what they were?

Ok with fan maually set to 100% it maintains a steady 42.c with it set to Auto it just gets higher and higher until it got to 82.c and i stopped the demo. The fan speed indicator in the drivers was showing 99% but the fan did not speed up at all..

Could this be drivers or Faulty card.. ?

Just did a full un-install and re-install of the drivers and now i dont have the overdrive tab which gives me the temp readings..??

Been having a bit more of a fiddle. It seems my cpu being clocked at 3.6ghz was causing the curruption. If i set it back to normal it runs ok. If i set my memory speed to 667 instead of 800 i can run the cpu at 3.6ghz ok. ? The Beta drivers deffinately seems to work better the fan control now works after 30 mins of the heaven benchmark the Graphics card sits at a steady 51.c according to GPU-Z.
Seems strange that the cpu overclock was causing the graphics card to crash unless i,m missing something..

Maybe the PCI-E clock changed when overclocking ?

Could well be. I have set my motherboard to auto overclock profile 20% and manually set the ram speed to 667 and all seems fine. Will run a few more benchmarks and see how it goes..

Just had a message up saying the display driver has stopped responding and has been recovered running standard clocks. Think i,m going to return this card and get a 260 gtx never had a problem with nvidia cards before. cant be doing with all the hassle.

Hmm left it running the heaven benchmark all night and it was still running this morning 10 hours later, GPU was at 49.c.. Think i will stick with it for now and see how it goes..
