Hi

I have a sapphire radeon HD 5770 vapor x graphics card using catalyst 9.12 with the hotfix that fixed the big cursor problem.

Trouble is the screen goes blank with ATI Radeon family driver has stopped working and recovered.

This happens at random and I have been on many forums looking for answers.

Is there any solutions to this problem or is it simply that the ATI drivers are not up to spec and the card should be returned?

tried over drivers with it?

drivers seem to be a bit hit and miss sort of thing these days from both Nv and ATI

Thanks AMG

I have tried the drivers with the card and downloaded the latest from ATI being 9.12 and hotfix. How would I use the over drivers and are they sucessful with current problems being experianced with over HD 5770 users.

you could try 9-11s, you will have to uninstall your current onces first through.

not sure if ATIs newest is out yet 10-1

When you say this happens at ramdom does that mean it can happen when you doing something as simply as browsing the web or does it only happen when your playing games or a particular game?

Been reviewing the forums and it seems the majority of 5... series are having problems.

I think ATI needs to bring as you say the 10.1 update whenever that is. I looked on the website and there is little information on it.

I dont really want to overclock the graphics card as I am new to all this and was impressed building the system from scratch.

Hi Freddie

Yes completely random either playing online or simply a few seconds after switching computer on. Time scale it varies too, but its getting like 'fingers crossed' all the time.

When I get the dreaded message from ATi pop up window on the toolbar it either flashes on recovery or a re-start is needed.

I have two of these in crossfire using the same drivers as you and they are fine. Is it happening when the card downclocks to save energy I wonder because that was a well known problem and some folks created a profile to stop the card downclocking. I presume mine are ok because the linked card of the two stays at higher clocks than the main card.:)
