Just got the last HD5870 from another website as got bored of OC getting stock in ! I upgraded from a HD4890 after like 6 months and i'm very happy with the improvement as it kicks the arse out of everything you throw at it.
I would like to know what all you guys are doing with yours tho as I have downloaded all the benchmarks n stuff to see tessalisation and yes it's very pretty and impressive but i'm not totally sold as there's pretty much nothing that uses it right now.
Also I notice a massive slowdown when it's enabled too, is this just the benchmarks of it running at full pelt as it really needs to be faster if to run in real time games.
I also have the ticket for Dirt2 but when I went on website I wasn't too impressed. Fair nuff it runs DX 11 but from the videos I only saw a flag rendered and also the water effects. I am quite impressed with the water effects but will there be any tessaliation at all on noramal ground textures ?
I just wonder what all you guys are playing yours with. I don't regret buying it for a second as it's soooo good and am even thinking of a second when the prices drop.
Basically just wondered what you guys are doing with yours and if i'm missing anything.
One more huge thing I did notice and was really impressed with was the Left 4 Dead 2 Demo. I notice that if you run the game with full settings AAx8 & AFx16 the game runs like a beasts on full settings getting about 150 fps plus or whatever.
However if you also then go into the CCC and turn settings on full without enabling game settings it will then run AAx8 & AFx16 ontop of thoes allready full settings and drop the frames to about 30 - 40 fps but making the game look stupidly amazing. So basically it looks like it's doubling the AA & AF. I'm perhaps getting this wrong and that's just the way it is but it looks really good and you can't see a sharp edge anywhere. I will post screens a bit on this post but if you'd like to see the pics I took and what i'm taking about I have uploaded to rapidshare if you'd like to see........

Will uploads pics to forum in a bit once i have changed from bitmaps as too large. Am I getting this right tho or was the AA & AF not enabled b4 ? Well take a look and see what u think. I'm maybe just a noob at this ****.
